Circle of Silence

A Voice in the Circle of Silence
28,000,000 people
115 counties
6 states
2% Believers

The Circle of Silence, encompassing the largest population with the least evangelization in the western hemisphere, is a geographical region in central Mexico slightly larger than the state of Pennsylvania. Comprising six states, including Guadalajara at its center, this area is home to approximately 28 million people.

Named for the meager percentage (less than 2%) of evangelical believers, these six states hold historical significance as they were never conquered by Spanish conquistadors, a fact they proudly share. Today, the region is known as the "Circle of Silence" due to its challenges—drug lords, persecution, poverty, and religious traditions hinder the sharing of the Good News. Less than 1% or 1 in 100 people have had the opportunity to hear, understand, and believe in Jesus. What's even more astonishing is the presence of several indigenous groups within this circle that have no known witnessing churches.

In 2015, the Christian and Missionary Alliance approved the SouthPointe Project with the mandate to evangelize the Circle of Silence by planting churches and engaging in community development ministries.

The multisite church, Breath of Life, was founded in 2015 to evangelize and strategically reach the ethnic groups in remote areas of the Sierra Madre mountains.

There are five indigenous peoples with their own cultures and languages, where Christianity often faces intolerance and believers can be aggressively persecuted:

-Purepecha
-Huichol (Wixarika)
-Cora
-Mexicaneros
-Tepehuanes

Compounding the difficulties of evangelizing the Circle of Silence is the hardship many believers face in Mexico, a country consistently listed on the World Watch List of Open Doors. (Source: https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/)

In 2023, Mexico ranked 38th globally for extreme persecution against Christians, surpassing countries like Turkey, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Tajikistan.

The Circle of Silence stands as the least evangelized area in the western hemisphere in 2024, with people living just 800 miles south of the US border who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ, let alone the gospel message.

With big dreams come great needs. When the Lord called us to the Circle of Silence, we understood the tremendous odds we faced. With less than 2% of the population confessing Jesus as Lord, the opportunity to share the gospel is virtually unlimited. That's why we need your help.

We are thrilled to share our ongoing and future projects with you. Through your giving and prayers, God is using you to make the impossible possible. Our collective efforts aim to transform the Circle of Silence into a circle of proclamation for the mighty Word of God.

We express our love for God by obeying His command to make disciples of all nations, and this is why we plant churches. Your generosity and prayers are instrumental in fulfilling this mission, making a lasting impact on the lives of those in the Circle of Silence.
