Bob and Cheryl Fugate in Guadalajara, Mexico
Bringing Hope, Transforming Lives – Impacting the Circle of Silence in Mexico with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19–20
Who We Are
Bob and Cheryl Fugate, seasoned missionaries affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, dedicated 25 years of their lives to ministry in Chile before embarking on a new chapter in 2014 in Guadalajara, Mexico. During their time in Chile, the Fugates successfully established three churches in the capital city of Santiago. Bob took on the role of field director for the Chilean Alliance Field and played a pivotal role in founding the Chilean Alliance National Youth Ministry.
Beyond their roles in church planting, the Fugates served as long-term coordinators for marriage encounter and women's encounter ministries. They expanded these initiatives to Argentina, Bolivia, and Mexico. Additionally, the couple were founding board members of the non-profit organization, Vision por Chile, dedicated to supporting vulnerable children. Over the course of their 25-year mission, they oversaw the construction of four churches and 15 children's homes, camps, and schools.
In 2014, the Fugates established SouthPointe Ministries with a mission to evangelize the Circle of Silence in central Mexico by planting multiplying communities of faith. A significant milestone was achieved in 2015 with the founding of the Breath of Life multisite church of the Alliance in Guadalajara, Mexico. Accompanied by another Alliance Missionary couple and three Mexican families, the small church experienced rapid growth. In 2016, they acquired property and are currently in the process of constructing a church with a capacity for 500 individuals, serving as the central hub for Breath of Life church operations.
Bob and Cheryl spearhead the strategic vision known as 5.5.25 - a plan to plant five churches in Guadalajara and an additional five in the surrounding five states. The core belief of SouthPointe Ministries is that church planting is fundamental to evangelizing the Circle of Silence in central Mexico, leaving a lasting impact both physically and spiritually as they sow seeds of faith.
